Start slowly with a few notes. Listen to the sound of each one against the root or a matching chord. Repeating a small idea with a new ending is often more musical than running up and down an entire scale.
- Choose a root and a small area of the neck.
- Play a short question, pause, then answer it.
- Repeat the idea with a different rhythm.
- Move it to another key with Mode locked.
Use your ears alongside the diagram. The highlighted notes are a useful palette, not a guarantee that every note will fit every chord.
Pick up your guitar
